HOPE is a faith-based Humanitarian Organization for Poverty Eradication, Incorporated under Charitable Trust Act 1957 and a Registered Charity under Charities Act 2005 in New Zealand. HOPE is a non-governmental and not-for-profit charitable organization formed by a group of committed people who are very keen to bring change and improve people’s lives by providing ample opportunities and resources.
Is HOPE a registered Charity?

What areas of work does HOPE currently focus on?
Education, Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Women, Capacity building, Advocacy, Food, Disaster Management and Response Recovery.
If I do not live in New Zealand, or the country where HOPE does have an office, who shall I contact?
You can still become a supporting member or organizational member by sending your interest to your closest office or directly to our office in New Zealand. We will get in touch with you about the outcome of your application.
What happens if I cannot pay my membership dues on time?
You will be given 90 days and membership could be suspended for non-payment.
Are donations outside of New Zealand tax deductible?
No, currently all donations allocated for charitable activities outside of New Zealand are not eligible for a tax claim.
Can I organize an event for HOPE?
Yes, if you are a member of the Charity and wanting to host an event or organize a fundraising event, this could be possible and organized.
How can I become a Volunteer?
You need to contact your local contact person or directly to us and we can discuss further. You need to sign a Volunteer agreement and organization’s Code of Conduct.

How to become a member of the organization?
It’s very simple; you can join us now by choosing a membership.
Are are membership dues the same for everyone?
Yes, as HOPE is a Charity and relies on donations and memberships dues. All membership dues are applied to the current conversion of currency at the time of membership.
Are donations given to HOPE tax-deductible?
Donations to HOPE for charitable activities in New Zealand are tax-deductible and donors can request that allocated donations should be used in New Zealand.
Does HOPE have different bank accounts for New Zealand and Overseas charitable activities?
Yes, there are two different bank accounts for charitable activities in New Zealand and Overseas charitable activities.
How can I ask for or access the organization’s financial report/performance report?
All financial information and audited reports can be accessed through the Charity Commission New Zealand Website. You can also ask our team for these documents.
Can I become a volunteer with HOPE?
Yes, you can become a Volunteer and work for the organization. We do believe in involving the local community where we work.
